Who We Are
A Rhode Island native, Knit Happens founder Susan Odessa is a graduate of Brown University and earned a Masters of Public Administration from Penn State. One of the benefits of growing up surrounded by family was being able to spend lots of time with her grandparents and create wonderful memories. One of Susan’s grandmothers taught her to cook, and when she was about 8, her other grandmother taught her how to knit. And, it’s been a love affair ever since!
Upon the closing of two of Susan’s favorite local yarn stores, she felt the loss firsthand. There was no longer a community space to meet new friends, browse beautiful yarns, and work on pieces in a collective way. That’s when she decided to develop an e-commerce yarn store. Knit Happens will offer a variety of fine yarns and knitting accessories, Zoom classes and knitting lessons, and in-person knitting sessions.
The greatest joy comes from giving someone you care about a hand knit gift, and at Knit Happens, we’re here to be your knitting concierge. We take the guess work out of knitting, with tips, help, suitable patterns and the yarns to match them.
We’re so happy that you’re here and we can’t wait to help you make something gorgeous!
